Call for entries: World Festival of Underwater Images
The 37th World Festival of Underwater Images, formerly held at Antibes, is will be held from the 27 to 31 October 2010 at the Palais du Pharo. Marseille. Jean-Michel Cousteau will be the honorary president in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of his father, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and many of those who took part in the Calypso odyssey will be at the event.
Entries for the 2010 competition are now open with a new category being introduced: the "Photo-Trio". This competition asks photographers to enter three digital photographs without any style limitations. It’s open to everyone, professionals and amateurs (as are all the Festival competitions), but is aimed more at amateur participants who are not able to enter a series of ten images, as required in the Portfolio class. Participants in this new category may also take part in other competitions in the Festival, as long as their images do not appear in two different categories.
Other awards at the festival include:
The "Our World Underwater Scholarship Society" which will be attributed to the best photo entered in one of the other Festival competitions taken by a young photographer not more than 25 years old.
The French Conchology Association (AFC) and the "Jorge Albuquerque” prizes will be awarded either to an image entered in the Conchology class itself or in any other photographic competitions. The Andre Laban prize, the “Blue Passion” will reward an image entered in the “Color Photo” category.
Lastly, the "Apnéa" (for the best photo of a free-diving subject), and the "Ocean Geographic Society" (for the best image of a jellyfish) awards are not competition classes, but will be awarded to the best images of those themes in any of the other photo competitions.
Entry deadline is 15 September 2010.

Ma video "Et après" a été selectionnée pour le Festival International de l'Image Environnementale (www.fiie.fr)
Le FIIE est le premier festival international dédié à l'image environnementale sous toutes ses formes.
Il aura lieu entre le 26 Juin et le 3 juillet 2010 sur le Bassin de la Villette à Paris, et proposera de nobreuses animations :
- Sur le bassin une promenade photographique sur plus de 120 mètres sera agrémentée de tirages géants disposés entre les arbres.
La promenade « Montand » révélera 38 tirages géants sur bâches écologiques tendus entre les arbres, et des animations.
- A bord de la péniche Anako, face au 61 quai de la Seine, le dimanche 27 juin de 14h30 à 19h00, projection à 14h30 du film Home de Yann Arthus Bertrand et conférence publique, suivi à 17h du film « Auroville, une Terre pour demain » de Michèle Decoust et conférence publique

Subnauta VideoDigiSub 2009 - 3º Festival de Vídeo Subaquático de Portimão, tem como objectivos a dinamização do mergulho e actividades conexas em todas as suas vertentes, em particular, do vídeo subaquático, proporcionando aos mergulhadores/realizadores a oportunidade de apresentarem publicamente os seus trabalhos.
Integrado na “Semana da Imagem Subaquática de Portimão”, que engloba inúmeras iniciativas relacionadas com o vídeo e a fotografia subaquática, pretende-se com este festival estimular a participação de todos os interessados e elevar cada vez mais a qualidade geral dos vídeos subaquáticos realizados por mergulhadores/realizadores portugueses.

13th International Underwater Film Festival

Call for Entries
Dear Underwater Filmmakers,
We are very pleased to announce the 13th International Underwater Film Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. This event will be held, like every year, during the beginning of December, from 11th to 14th 2009.
We will be honored to present your film or films to our audience.
The competitions will include different categories:
IC - INDEPENDENT CATEGORY for independent producers with films up to 26 minutes (amateur film makers, independent producer).
PC - PRO CATEGORY for professional productions ( films without time limit )
Films for the contest would have to be 2008. or 2009. production, with at least 30% underwater shots and formats are BETA SP, DV Cam or MiniDV (PAL), HDV.
ONLY if it is an hardship to enter those formats, you may subit film on DVD. Similarly, we will accept NTSC if it is a hardship to submit PAL format.

The subject is free. Competition admission is free.
For the revue part, we'll accept older productions.
